π ABOUT ORION’S LEGACY
A Sanctuary for Grief, Ritual, and Remembrance
β Who I Am

βββ
My name is Geri Watson, and I am the founder of Orion’s Legacy, a griefβcentered writing and ritual design studio inspired by my son, Hunter. I am a writer, editor, grief coach, ritualist, and meaningβmaker who believes that grief deserves language, ritual, and a place to land.
β
My work is rooted in emotional literacy, natureβbased symbolism, and the quiet truth that love does not end; it transforms.

π How Orion’s Legacy Began

β
Orion’s Legacy was born in the aftermath of losing my son, Hunter. In the silence that followed his death, I found myself reaching for anything that could help me stay connected to him: candles, symbols, small rituals, and the language that rose from my grief.
β
I kept seeing the constellation Orion in the night sky. It felt like a message, a presence, a reminder that he was still with me. That moment became the seed of this work.
β
I began creating rituals and symbolic tools to help myself survive the impossible. Over time, people began asking for the same tools: for language that didn’t minimize their grief, for rituals that honored their loved ones, for symbols that made them feel less alone.
β
What started as my own healing slowly became a path for others.

πΏ Why Ritual? Why Symbols?
βββ
β
β
β
β
β
Because grief is not logical, it is relational. It lives in the body, the breath, the memory, the ache.
β
Ritual gives grief a container. Symbolism gives grief a language. Both help us stay connected to the ones we love.
β
I work with symbols like:
β
-
Mushrooms - memory, unseen connection, transformation
-
Stars - guidance, presence, the light that remains
-
Constellations - meaningβmaking, legacy, connection
-
Thresholds - transition, initiation, becoming
-
Candles - presence, remembrance, the flame of love
ββ
β
These symbols help us access meaning beyond words, especially when words feel impossible.
